Part 03: A Baby Named Death

Black Butler/Sims 3
Grell’s Tale
By Axel Ingleson (AKA Sebastian Michaelis)

The third child to come into the life of Grell Sutcliffe was a tragic male infant who had been given the unfortunate name of Death. It was a name Grell had no intention of changing, given his secret profession.
The woman running the orphanage wondered why any parent would decide to keep such an unlucky name. Perhaps it was a challenge to the child, just another obstacle of life to be faced and overcome.

Death Sutcliffe was tiny when Grell brought him home, a fact which drew the attention of the demon butler he loved so dearly. It was not so hard to see that Sebastian feared the worst for any infant in the care of such a man as Grell Sutcliffe. That was Sebastian’s only reason for his decision. Though Grell intended to take full advantage of the situation.

With a few words to his master, Ciel, that he would always be available to a summons, Sebastian made up his mind to stay with Grell for a short time, for the sake of the infant.

“Just remember where your loyalties lie.” Ciel warned him.

“Yes, my Lord,” Sebastian bowed low, and departed.

It didn’t take long for little Death Sutcliffe to sneak into that untouched recess of Sebastian’s heart that all others (save for the many cats whom Sebastian held great fondness for) had failed to reach. Still bound by contract to Ciel, he promised himself that he would do whatever he could to protect both his master, and this puzzling infant.

Part 02: Cherryblossom

Black Butler/Sims 3
Grell’s Tale
By Axel Ingleson (AKA Sebastian Michaelis)

A month after Grell adopted Cerise, the orphanage called with news of a second girl who also needed a new home. She had been left at the orphanage by an elderly neighbor after a fire had taken her parents while she was at school. The neighbor had never actually known the family, or the girl’s name. But the people at the orphanage had started calling her Cherryblossom because of her brilliant red hair, and the name had stuck. She had been in the orphanage for a couple of weeks, passed over by all because of her hair color. People wanted children who looked like them and red, especially that shade, was simply unheard of in most families.

Grell took one look at the girl, whose hair color, like Cerise, matched his own, and agreed to take her into his home. Although a bit of a loner to begin with, Cherryblossom was quite happy to be leaving the orphanage. It was simply too crowded there.

Although not too fond of hugs, Cherryblossom was too grateful not to give one to her new father. She would, she decided, put up with it for his sake. He, after all, had been kind enough to give her a home and a new sister to play with. One sister, she decided, was fine with her.

Part 01: Cerise.

Grell’s Tale
By Axel Ingleson (AKA Sebastian Michaelis)

Grell Sutcliffe could not remember being as happy as he was on the day that he adopted his first child. The girl was named Cerise and her hair was as red as his own. In fact, in appearance, she was a child version of himself. But only in appearance. She was more level-headed than he, despite being a mere child. Grell guessed this was the result of her being raised in an orphanage.

Grell had wanted to bear a child of his own, but such a thing was just not meant to be. Finally coming to terms with this, Grell had finally decided to take a shot at adoption. The chances seemed stacked against him. First off, he was unmarried. Secondly, he was a male. And third, he was a death god. His hopes weren’t high when he arrived at the orphanage. But, times being what they were, the orphanage was being a little more lax than usual with their parent selection, and Grell had left the orphanage with a new daughter and a brilliant smile on his face.
